Mix about 100 gr of flour with yeast and
water and let stand until foamy.
Add once at time all the ingredients
except the lard and work well for about
ten minutes.
Cut the dough in small rolls of 40 gr
circa.
Roll in rectangles of ½ cm height.
Brush the cold lard on the dough and
roll the dough as if it were a cigarette
and then again forming a spiral.
Brush again wiht the lard.
Let stand till doubled in volume.
Before baking spray the ensaimadas with
water.
Pre-heated oven at 200° for 15 minutes.
When ready sprinkle abundantly with icing
sugar.
